Clinic and Residency Changes

  • Garnered assistance from IT staff to provide resident panel reports and obtain quality metrics for all residents that will be shared with them at their semi-annual reviews
  • Created more functional PCMH teams within a larger residency practice and involved residents in team meetings and pre-clinic team huddles
  • Initiated TeamSTEPPS workshops for clinical practices
  • Obtained institutional grant support to conduct joint PCMH lecture events that included residents, staff, and faculty across all three disciplines
  • Obtained an institutional faculty development grant to support faculty direct observation skill building
  • A longitudinal Leadership in Primary Care track developed in Peds is now including IM and FM residents in their didactic sessions.
  • Accomplished increased visibility within their institution and acknowledgement from leaders of the importance of their transformation work
  • Planned for move to a block curriculum with increased continuity clinic time in internal medicine starting in July 2015.
